Answers to common questions about CalmNight.

Why is there no sound when I press play?

Make sure you have selected a sound first (Calm Night or Cosy Rain) before pressing start. Also check that your iPhone is not on silent mode.

Does CalmNight work in airplane mode?

Yes — after playing a sound at least once with an internet connection, it will be cached locally and available offline.

Will the sound stop after 60 minutes even if my screen is off?

Yes. The sleep timer runs in the background and will stop the sound after 60 minutes even with the screen locked.

How does the sunrise wake-up work?

Select Sleep & WakeUp, then choose Sunrise. CalmNight uses your GPS location to calculate today's local sunrise time and will play a gentle morning sound at that time. Make sure your iPhone is plugged in for best results.

Can I set a custom wake-up time?

Yes — select Sleep & WakeUp, then tap Custom and set your preferred time using the time picker.

Why does CalmNight ask for location permission?

Location is used only to calculate your local sunrise time. It is never stored or shared. You can deny location access and use a custom wake-up time instead.

Why does CalmNight ask for microphone permission?

CalmNight does not use the microphone. This permission is requested automatically by iOS audio frameworks. We do not record or access your microphone in any way.

Should I plug in my iPhone overnight?

We recommend it — especially if you use the Sleep & WakeUp mode, which keeps audio running in the background all night.
